Website Demo 001 · Original interactive prototype
Beneath Every Window
Choose a place. Look outward for a moment. Then follow its signal beneath the surface.
The sunlight layer
The view remains visible, but the signal begins to change.
The window above is still easy to imagine. Color, sound, and place remain connected. The experiment borrows the calm of looking somewhere else, then changes the direction of travel from outward to downward.
The twilight layer
Color leaves before the idea of the place does.
The image becomes less certain. What began as a view becomes a pulse: location, rhythm, and memory translated into interface language.
“A city can disappear from sight and still remain present as a frequency.”
The midnight layer
Navigation changes when there is no horizon.
The globe no longer means “travel across.” It becomes a remembered point above. The only active direction is deeper, and the interface keeps one small beacon alive.
The abyssal layer
The place above becomes an idea rather than an image.
No ordinary window reaches this depth. No normal broadcast carries this far. The remaining signal is deliberately abstract: a reminder of where the descent began rather than proof that connection survived unchanged.
The final layer
Every descent eventually becomes a return question.
You began with one ordinary imagined view in Valparaíso. The farther the page traveled from it, the more valuable the window became—not because it was spectacular, but because it was reachable.
How the random references became this demo
Three unrelated websites produced one shared idea: discovery changes when direction changes.
This is an original fictional interface. It does not reproduce the branding, media, text, artwork, or exact layout of any reference website.
Inspired the random-place portal and the quiet feeling of looking outward from somewhere else.
Inspired global location points, signal language, and sound that begins only after visitor interaction.
Inspired the long vertical journey, changing environmental layers, and live depth measurement.
“Design a new website based solely on these three websites.”
The three reference websites were randomly selected before the concept existed. No audience, subject, palette, required feature, or preferred layout was supplied before development began.
